Moama’s Heartland Raceway this weekend is set to host not one state title for the V8 Dirt Modifieds, but two state titles.

With Heartland Raceway located on the NSW-Victorian border, the Dirt Modifieds Australia committee made the unique decision to host the NSW and Victorian Titles on the same weekend at the same venue, with the NSW Title being held on the Saturday night and the Victorian Title fought out on the Sunday night at the 500-metre track.

“Heartland Raceway’s central location made perfect sense for them to host both titles, and it’s set to be an exciting weekend with plenty of close racing action,” enthused current Dirt Modifieds Australia president Andrew Firth.

“It’s no secret that in this current economic climate racing is getting very expensive, so we want to try and make competing in major events as cost effective as possible.”

In the NSW Title, there will be a new winner, as the defending champion Mark Robinson is not competing, but in the Victorian Title, the defending champion is Kevin Britten (Qld) who has nominated, so he’ll be looking to make it back-to-back wins. For Britten, the Heartland Raceway track has been a happy hunting ground for him over the years, as it was where he won last season’s Victorian Title and back in 2018 his third Australian Title victory.

Aside from Britten being one of the favourites for the NSW and Victorian Titles, others looking to be amongst the front runners will be the likes of David Clark, last season’s Victorian Title runner-up finisher Chris Corbett, Andrew Pezzutti, Blake Eveleigh, Seiton Connor Young, Zac McDonald and Ray Klarich, while the list of Victorian challengers includes Daryl Hickson, Steve Milthorpe, Todd Hobson, Brett Clarke and Michael Ardley.

Their double header weekend at Heartland Raceway is set to be the biggest V8 Dirt Modified held at the venue since they hosted the 2018 Australian Title.

The month of March is set to be a big one for the V8 Dirt Modifieds, where the Queensland Title, which will see Kevin Britten as the defending champion after he last season defeated David Clark and Scott Cannon, is set to be fought out on March 16 at Hi-Tec Oils Toowoomba Speedway and then later in the month there will be a two-night race meeting held at Lismore Speedway in northern NSW over the Easter Long Weekend on March 30 and 31.
